Hi everyone. We've been quiet for a while, but we've not been idle. In fact, it's been a ridiculously busy time with a bunch of things on the go, that we've started but not yet completed, and we're hoping to bring you videos or the process once they are finished.
Here's what we've been up to:
Still working on the dome and part 2 will be coming in due course. It has been put on a bit of a back burner as there has been no planting in January and there's so much else going on.
We've started cleaning up the kiln. The ivy is everywhere and there are layers and layers of it!!! But we're only doing this between more important jobs, trying to get as much done as we possibly can before the end of February and the start of nesting season. We will bring a part 1 video soon because this is for the long haul. It's allowed us some previously unavailable views:
We're making a new letter box in anticipation of an eircode we should be allocated in February, so we can start receiving bills and invoices, haha.
We've been very very very busy with a funding application for a conservation grant which is due soon. Eek! We did well last year but did not get the grant as we weren't the owners yet so we're hoping for a better result this year
Those of you who follow us on Facebook will know that we've received some negatives of the mill from 1985 (thought lost) and an image of the famous shelling wheel model (thought destroyed completely)! It'll be hard to re-create this from what we've got!
And last but not least, we've bought and put up a scaffold to the front of the cottage to start patching up the roof! Behold!
